Say Yes To No
Psychologist and renown parenting expert Dr. David Walsh returns to BPS-TV with a brand new 60 minute special based on his 2007 best selling book “No! Why Kids – Of All Ages – Need To Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It”. Kids today spend 44.5 hours in front of electronic screens, more than any other activity besides sleeping. As a result, children are exposed to more than one million “yes” messages a year, nurturing a rising epidemic of “Discipline Deficit Disorder”. Dr. Walsh provides the antidote to DDD in this lively discussion filmed at the WBCC-TV studio in Cocoa. “Say Yes To No” joins Dr. Walsh’s previous TV specials “Surviving the Adolescent Brain” and “Why Do They Act That Way?” as another example of how BPS-TV is serving the needs of Brevard County parents.
“Say Yes To No” will be shown throughout November at these times:
Sunday’s at 8:00 pm Thursday’s at 6:00 pm
Tuesday’s at 9:30 pm Friday’s at 9:00 pm

Super Why makes reading an empowering adventure by using interactive literacy games that need YOU to play. The show is set in Storybrook Village, a magical 3-D world hidden behind the bookshelves in a children's library and home to some of your child's favorite fairytale characters: Red, from Little Red Riding Hood; Pig from The Three Little Pigs, Princess from The Princess and The Pea, and Whyatt, the curious younger brother of Jack from Jack and The Beanstalk who discovers he has the power to fly inside books to find answers to his questions. WorldGirl
A new animated series that follows the every day life and superhero adventures of “WordGirl” as she fights crime and enriches vocabulary usage, all in a day’s work. In classic superhero form, WordGirl possesses superhero strength with the added benefit of a colossal vocabulary. Each episode introduces four new vocabulary words and will reinforce their meaning in a variety of contexts throughout the episode. The vocabulary itself is not necessarily a plot point. The show teaches new vocabulary words to children in a variety of fun and interesting contexts. WordGirl is a superhero spoof, so storylines are funny takes of familiar stories from that genre. WordGirl enriches young audiences’ vocabulary, closes the gap for those who don’t grow up in language-rich environments, instills a love of language, and fosters better reading comprehension. Miffy's world includes activities recognizable to young children like numbers, colors, seasons, nature, friendship, and family celebrations as well as visits to Africa, Asia, Europe and the North Pole to discover new cultures as a preschooler would understand them. A female narrator, sounding like a child's favorite teacher, guides viewers through the action. (Showtimes: Saturday and Sundays at 8:00 am)
Signing Time!
Teaching babies, toddlers and young children to communicate using American Sign Language (ASL).
